He Thought It Was a Famous Castle—It Was a Fancy Pizza Hut!
Mark had always dreamed of visiting grand European castles, steeped in history and brimming with architectural marvels. So, when his friend suggested a detour to see a particularly “impressive landmark” on their road trip, Mark was ecstatic. As they drove, anticipation mounted. He imagined towering stone walls, majestic turrets, and perhaps even a drawbridge.
Rounding a bend, a building came into view. It was certainly…distinctive. It boasted an unusual roofline, vaguely reminiscent of battlements, and the color scheme was certainly bold. Mark squinted, trying to discern the ancient stonework he expected. As they drew closer, however, a familiar red logo came into focus. Above the pseudo-medieval entrance, the unmistakable script of “Pizza Hut” gleamed.
Mark’s jaw dropped. The “famous castle,” the “impressive landmark,” was a cleverly disguised pizza parlor! His initial disappointment quickly morphed into amusement. He had to admit, the architects had gone all out with the theme. It was certainly a more elaborate Pizza Hut than he had ever seen. They decided to go in, the irony too delicious to ignore. As he munched on a slice of pepperoni, surrounded by faux-stone walls and medieval-themed decor, Mark couldn’t help but appreciate the sheer audacity of it all. His castle dreams might have been momentarily crushed, but he certainly had a story to tell.
